How to Protect your Original Content on Web

I know these days content duplication is one of the major concerns for the webmasters. It is quite annoying to see your content on any other website and even more frustrating to see no credit to original author/writer.

Many webmasters copy the content from different websites and publish them on their site for earning money through Text Links and Google Adsense Program. The only thing they do care about is money. This is someone else property which is used without permission and any credit.

To avoid such issues one should take the copyright of his/her work. There are many websites I have seen which are saying Copyroght @ …..domain.com which actually trying to protect their website content. Some times it works but guys why take chances.
There is an alternate way to protect your content or your work through Creative Commons License which is free of cost. Just sign up, copy the code and place it on your website/blog.

Another way to protect your content is to take the snapshot of Google cached pages and Webpage once they are indexed in Google at very initial stage of content publishing. It helps you to protect yourself from others webmasters who copied our content and claims that they are original source of the content. This really helps as there are many chances that your fresh original content copied by one of the competitor and publish it on his website with same timeframe between 1 week and so.

What if your website content has been copied by several websites? What will you do in this case? Your answer must be CopyScape. Copyscape is an online tool which helps to detect the duplicate content on web.

Joshua Dorkin writes an article about “How to Protect Your Website’s Copyright When Someone Steals Your Content” which I think quite comprehensive and easy guide to protect your content.
